Yes. The 40mm thickness and 240kg/m³ high-density rebonded foam core provide cushioning and impact absorption for throws, takedowns and groundwork. Use suitable techniques and supervision.

No. These traditional, flat-edge mats are laid tightly side by side. For larger areas, use suitable perimeter restraints to help prevent separation.
5. Will the mats move during training?
The latex anti-slip backing helps reduce movement on suitable indoor flooring. We recommend a secure perimeter frame for larger or busy training areas.
6. Are they suitable for home use?
Yes, provided you have sufficient space and a suitable, level indoor floor. Bear in mind each mat is 2m long and weighs approximately 18kg.
7. Can they be laid directly on concrete?
Yes, provided the concrete is smooth, level, clean and completely dry. Check for moisture and consider perimeter restraints for permanent installations.
8. How do I clean the mats?
Wipe the top PVC surface with a soft cloth and mild household detergent diluted in lukewarm water. Avoid strong chemicals, abrasives and excessive water. Allow to dry fully before use.
9. Can I mix different colours?
Yes. Choose from Black, Blue, Green (Olive) and Red to create contrasting zones and layouts.
10. Is there a minimum order?

Care & Maintenance – 40mm Tatami Judo Mats
Indoor Use Only
Use indoors only. Keep away from rain, excessive moisture, direct heat and prolonged strong sunlight.
Cleaning
- Remove dust and debris regularly using a soft brush, dry mop or vacuum with a soft attachment.
- Clean only the top PVC surface with a soft cloth or mop and mild household detergent diluted in lukewarm water.
- Avoid bleach, strong solvents, abrasive products and excessive water.
- Do not soak, pressure-wash or submerge the mats.
- Allow the surface to dry fully before training.
Installation & Positioning
- Install on a clean, level, dry, stable indoor surface.
- Lay mats tightly together to minimise gaps.
- For larger or permanent installations, use suitable perimeter restraints to reduce movement and separation.
- Check positioning regularly.
Storage
- Store indoors in a clean, dry, ventilated area, preferably flat on a suitable mat trolley.
- Each 2m x 1m mat weighs approximately 18kg. Use appropriate handling assistance when moving or stacking.
- Avoid heavy or sharp objects on top, and do not fold or bend the mats.
Regular Inspection
