1. What size is each mat?
Each mat measures 1m × 1m × 20mm and covers approximately 1m² before cutting.
2. Which colours are on each mat?
Red on one side and black on the other. You can lay either side face up or alternate them.
3. Are these the Basic or Premium mats?
These are Cannons UK Premium Standard mats with a stated density of 120kg/m³ and hardness of Shore C 45. They are intended for regularly used martial arts training areas.
4. Can I use them for judo or throws?
For repeated throws or takedowns, contact us about thicker matting appropriate to your discipline and subfloor.
5. Do the mats include border strips?
Yes. Border strips are included to finish exposed edges.
6. What surface should I lay them on?
Use a clean, flat and dry surface. Check the completed area for movement before training, especially when it is not enclosed by walls or a frame.
7. Will new mats fit ones bought previously?
Please contact us with details or a photo of your existing mats so we can check the interlocking profile before you order.
8. How do I clean them?
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, then dry fully before use. See Care & Maintenance for more detail.
9. Can I use them outdoors?
They are primarily intended for indoor use. Do not leave them installed where they will regularly get wet or exposed to the weather.
10. Are bulk discounts available?

Wipe the mats with a damp cloth and mild soap when needed. New mats may have some residual release agent from manufacturing; if the surface feels slippery, clean with mild soap or diluted sugar soap, then remove any residue with a clean damp cloth and let the mats dry fully before use.
Avoid harsh solvents, abrasive cleaners and soaking the foam. Check the jigsaw joins and floor stability before training. Store the mats flat in a clean, dry place when not in use.
